As a consequence of social distancing and the nationwide “Lock Down” imposed during the COVID-19 Virus Pandemic, our clinic has opened up slots for online consultations using web consultating and telemedicine with Zoom and Skype. Allergy diagnosing and management is possible remotely using virtual consultations as most of the allergy trigger clues are in the medical history and interrogation. Allergy testing using blood samples can then be arranged at a laboratory nearby the patient or by taking a blood sample using a finger prick test in the confines of your home. We have found this form of remote consultation very useful and are looking into making this a permanent facility in addition to our usual face-to-face consultations.
