The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) in the UK has put out a Drug Alert dated 11th July 2019 regarding Emerade adrenaline auto injectors failing to give a dose of adrenaline due to blockage of the syringe needle. Although the number of faulty auto  injectors reported has been very low (1 in 400), it is advisable to always carry two Emerade pen auto injectors at all times. No specific batches have been implicated, and the drug has not been recalled, despite the problem being identified as early as June 2018. The manufacturers Bausch & Lomb UK, have introduced corrective processes to remedy this defect as from mid-July 2019.
